LINE OF BUSINESS IS MORE DECISIVE
THAN MARKET AREA
The machines in Haloila’s Octopus range have conquered
the paper, food and construction industries. The line of
business is in fact often considerably more decisive in the
choice of machine type and needs for customisation than
the country in which the machine will ultimately be.
Many of our global customers value being able to use
the same, or similar, machine around the world. Mainte-
nance, service, spare parts – uniformity is a major advan-
tage,” Lehtiö says.
The extensive service network also makes it possible to
operate with the same models internationally. Even though
production is located at the Masku plant in Finland, Ha-
loila’s service network is always close to the customer,
practically operating on all five continents. And the cus-
tomers operate around the world.
Currently, the BRIC countries are the largest focus
areas of growth. Turkey is also an interesting market.
However, the demand is currently the highest in South
America, but we have also delivered dozens of machines
to Africa. Germany has been the most significant export
market over the course of the Octopus machine’s 30-year
history,” Lehtiö lists.
In addition to machine exports, international growth will
continue to be strong in the next few years with the ser-
vice business. The increasingly extensive service network
guarantees Octopus’ international position as a forerunner
in the future as well.
