CUSTOM SOLUTIONS FOR THE
BEVERAGE INDUSTRY
Orangina Schweppes produces still and carbonated bev-
erages in France. The company has been owned by the
Japanese brewery Suntory Holdings since 2009. A major
modernisation of the packaging lines was carried out at
the plant in 2010, aiming to improve the efficiency of op-
erations and stability of product pallets.
varying package and pallet sizes resulted in challenges in
finding a suitable wrapping machine. The packaging line
has both 1.5-litre and 2-litre bottles, which are packaged
in packages of different sizes on half- and full-pallets. The

requirements, and the first machine was put into use in
2011.
The experiences have been extremely positive. With
the new machine, the company was able to increase its

The Orangina Schweppes beverage plant has always invested in high-quality,
cost-efficient packaging solutions. In connection with the modernisation of the
packaging lines, the international ITW Group, to which Haloila also belongs,
was chosen as the new partner. The choice was the Octopus Twin wrapping
machine, which turned out to be an extremely effective solution.
production volume while also improving occupational safe-
ty. Efficiency improved considerably as well: up to 175
half-pallets can be wrapped per hour.
LESS STRETCH FILM, MORE SAVINGS
Orangina Schweppes has achieved cost-savings with the
new wrapping machine. Energy costs have decreased
and savings have been achieved in material costs as well.
Wrapping the product pallets consumes considerably
less stretch wrap than previously. In spite of being thin,
stretch film is extremely durable and designed specifically
for foodstuffs. It protects the packages from light and hu-
midity, among other factors.
The investment in Octopus Twin 200 has paid off. The
service reliability of the machines has increased the con-
fidence, and the current packaging solution serves the
company in the optimum way.
