OCTOPUS IS A COST-EFFICIENT CHOICE
The Porvoo plant currently has only Haloila Octopus wrap-
ping machines in operation. Maintenance is simpler when
using a single type of machines. In a tight spot, spare
parts can also be exchanged between the machines.

Our operations simply cannot afford interruptions. If
a machine malfunctions, we can replace the failed part
with a spare part taken from another machine. This is a
significant benefit to us,” Heikkilä says.
The equipment choices have also turned out to be cost-
efficient. Even more savings than originally estimated
have been achieved in packaging costs.

We have been able to increase our production vol-
umes while decreasing our packaging costs. The savings
have been a positive surprise to us,” Heikkilä says.
